Sam Cooke – Wonderful World
Many people have asked me about my new life in Brussels. So here’s the story, morning glory.
Brussels the city. Well, I’ve been here before and it’s slowly coming back to me. I already can easily find my way in the center. Can you imagine I even haven’t got lost yet which would be so me? Unbelievable. Of course, god bless google maps! I’m also amazed that I like here more than I expected. I kind a had the vision that I won’t like it here. But never say never.
People. They are gloomy and serious. Sometimes seems like it’s a crime to smile or laugh over here. Or maybe it’s just me who laughs without a reason. Anyway, seems that people are like little hamsters in a wheel – non stop running. Especially when you visit the parliament part of the town. Yet I have those with whom to take time off and enjoy the moment. But you can find a true mix of nationalities here, which I truly adore, and end up in funny random conversations.
Weather. The proper phrase would be – rainy yet spiced up with sun! The temperature has gone down a lot, but a few days ago you could smell the spring in the air! Fresh springy weather, ray bans, a picnic in the park.
Apartment. This is the least successful field at the moment although I’m lucky enough to have a person to live with. The Annoying Orange. We’re looking for a place at the moment. Meaning I’m looking, he apparently trusts me although I wouldn’t trust myself in this area. While talking to people and going through the ads I’ve realized that I’m quite spoilt (who could have guessed, ah?!). I’m looking for something special and should come back down to earth. However, found a place that I like and meets my criteria at least on the pictures. Now waiting to go and see it. We’ll see how it turns out. I mean today I got a reply that the apartment is unavailable at least till the end of the year, a few minutes later got an email that we can come and check it out in March. So figure out now what he/she was thinking.
Chocolate. Why everyone is so interested in the Belgian chocolate? Cannot figure it out. Disappointment over here – I still haven’t eaten a piece while apparently should be swimming in it.
Work. Just to kill the curiosity – I’m still doing the same thing! Didn’t join the parliament nor a strip club. But we have an office now with new colleagues + George, Homer and the one without a name (if you wanna understand this part, you need to come and visit us, I’ll introduce you to George, Homer and the frozen bitch).
French. Still don’t speak it and the fact that they speak English over here is not helping at all. But one day I will, promise.
That’s it for now. I’ll keep you posted with the sexy, juicy and delicious gossip soon. And oh, if you now wonder whether Triin has finally settled down, then think again! I’m up in the air again in no time.
